Для специалистов здравоохранения

Indications

Replacement therapy of exocrine (enzyme) insufficiency of the pancreas in children and adults, caused by decreased enzymatic activity of the pancreas due to impaired production, regulation of secretion, delivery of pancreatic enzymes or their increased destruction in the intestinal lumen, which is caused by a variety of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, and most often
most commonly seen in:
cystic fibrosis;
chronic pancreatitis;
pancreatectomy;
gastroectomy;
pancreatic cancer;
conditions following complete or partial gastric resection (e.g., Bilroth II gastroenterotomy);
obstruction of the pancreatic or common bile duct (e.g., by a tumor);
Schwachman-Daimond syndrome;
condition after exacerbation of acute pancreatitis from the moment of transfer of the patient to enteral nutrition;
Trizim® can be taken to improve digestion in patients with normal GI function in case of dietary errors (consumption of fatty foods, overeating, irregular meals, etc.).

How to use and dosage

The dose of the drug Trizim® is determined individually depending on the degree of digestive disorders.
Adults: 1-2 tablets before a meal orally, without chewing and drinking water (the effectiveness of the drug Trizim® may be reduced by chewing and pancreatic enzymes when released may irritate the mucous membrane of the oral cavity).
If necessary, 2-4 more tablets are taken additionally during meals. The daily dose of enzyme should not exceed 15000-20000 IU of lipase per kilogram of body weight.
In case when higher doses of pancreatin are required, a doctor's consultation is necessary to prescribe other enzyme preparations with a higher dosage, depending on the symptomatology (e.g., reduction in the severity of steatorrhea, abdominal pain).
The duration of treatment can vary from a few days (in digestive disorders due to errors in diet) to several months and even years (if permanent replacement therapy is necessary).

In children, the drug is used as prescribed by a doctor.
